Every 15 minutes, a child is sexually abused in India. The menace of child sexual abuse has reached epidemic proportions.
Most perpetrators of this crime are not dangerous strangers, but people who have the confidence and trust of the child and his or her family. Both boys and girls who are sexually abused spend a lifetime in silence because of shame, stigma and the fear of speaking up against it.
ActionAid India, an NGO and affiliate of ActionAid International, has been committedly fighting gender-based violence through its programs and campaigns over the years. This year, in a step forward to make the society violence-free, ActionAid India decided to take up arms against the sexual abuse of children, through those who children matter to the most – their parents.
ActionAid India entered into a partnership with WATConsult, a digital agency in the Dentsu Aegis Network, to shine a light on the issue through a campaign called ‘Join The Dots’ in order to prevent the incidence of abuse and to suggest immediate measures to address such violence.
‘Join The Dots’ is an initiative by ActionAid India to shine light on the issue in order to prevent the incidence of abuse and to suggest immediate measures to address such violence.
Join the digital momentum, use your voice to spotlight this issue by encouraging citizens to ‘#JoinTheDots’ and share it with your friends and family.
